SHANGHAI, June 21 (Xinhua) -- Negotiators from Chinese mainland and Taiwan signed here Friday a service trade agreement, which is expected to further strengthen cross-Strait economic ties.
The agreement was inked between the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits(ARATS) and the Straits Exchange Foundation(SEF). The ARATS and SEF are respectively authorized by the mainland and Taiwan to handle cross-Strait affairs.

SHANGHAI, June 21 (Xinhua) -- Chinese mainland's negotiator on cross-Strait ties Chen Deming started talks with his Taiwan counterpart Lin Join-sane here on Friday over a service trade agreement.
Chen became the president of the mainland-based Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits (ARATS) in April 2013 and Lin was elected chairman of the Taiwan-based Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF) in September 2012. Mainland official calls for solving cross-strait political differences
BEIJING, June 20 (Xinhua) -- A senior Chinese mainland official in charge of Taiwan affairs on Thursday called for greater efforts to solve political differences across the Taiwan Strait.
Addressing the opening ceremony of the "Beijing Talk" seminar on mainland-Taiwan relations, Sun Yafu, deputy director of the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, said both sides should focus on removing cross-strait political divergences. Full story
Taiwan delegation arrives in Shanghai for cross-strait talks
SHANGHAI, June 20 (Xinhua) -- A delegation headed by Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF) Chairman Lin Join-sane arrived in Shanghai on Thursday for a new round of talks with mainland negotiators.
