BEIJING, March 22 (Xinhua) -- Wang Qishan, a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC), on Friday met with former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger and called for closer cooperation between the two largest economies in the world.

Wang Qishan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the CPC's Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, said China and the United States are economically complementary to each other and their interests are closely interwoven.

Their bilateral relationship has become more and more globally influential, Wang said.
