BEIJING, March 16 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Li Keqiang appointed on Saturday four vice premiers and five state councilors at the annual session of the 12th National People's Congress, the top legislature.
The following is a brief introduction of them:
Zhang Gaoli, born in November 1946, is a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, vice premier of the State Council, and deputy secretary of the State Council Leading Party Members' Group.
Zhang entered the workforce in August 1970 and joined the CPC in December 1973. He graduated from the Department of Economics at Xiamen University with a major in planning and statistics.
Zhang served as secretary of the CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee from 2007 to 2012.
