BEIJING, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks slipped slightly on Friday with turnover shrinking on the country's two bourses.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index declined 11.29 points, or 0.49 percent, to finish at 2,291.30 points, while the Shenzhen Component Index moved down 0.92 percent, or 86.95 points, to 9,357.13.

Along with bearish market performance, combined turnover on the two bourses dived to 154.22 billion yuan (24.56 billion U.S. dollars) from 253.95 billion yuan the previous trading day.

Losers outnumbered gainers by 521 to 385 in Shanghai, but in Shenzhen, gainers and losers were almost equal as the number of gainers surpassed losers by just 733 to 726.

However, amid a losing streak, the ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, rose 0.66 percent, or 4.98 points, to close at 762.85 points on Friday.

Likewise, China's stock index futures, agreements to buy or sell the Hushen 300 Index at a preset value on an agreed date, also edged up on Friday.

Enterprises engaging in ceramics, medical apparatus and pharmacy were the biggest three gainers, while aircraft producers, liquor makers and ship builders led the decline on Friday.
