BEIJING, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- A spokesman for China's Foreign Ministry said on Friday that the country welcomed the cabinet line-up submitted by Libyan Prime Minister Ali Zaidan and approved by Libya's national congress.
"This marks a new step in the political transition of Libya, and China welcomes it," Hong Lei said.
China and Libya have friendly ties. China hopes Libya can realize lasting political stability and prosperity at an early date, the spokesman said.
"We are willing to work with Libya to further our friendly cooperative ties," he added.
