BEIJING, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- The Ministry of Finance said on Tuesday that the 11th Ministerial Conference on Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) will be held from Oct. 29 to Oct. 30 in Wuhan, capital city of central China's Hubei Province.
Finance minister Xie Xuren will lead the Chinese delegation at the event and act as the conference chairman, according to a statement from the ministry's website.
The conference will focus on expanding multilateral cooperation in key areas, establishing a CAREC institute and implementing CAREC 2020 Strategy, the statement said.
The CAREC program, initiated by the Asian Development Bank in 1997 to encourage regional cooperation, includes Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
