BEIJING, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi spoke to new African Union Commission chairperson Nkosozana Dlamini-Zuma by phone Tuesday.
Yang congratulated Dlamini-Zuma on her new post and both agreed to make concerted efforts to push forward China's relations with Africa and the AU.
Dlamini-Zuma, former South African home affairs minister, was elected to the AU's top post in July to become the first woman chief of the pan-African bloc.
