JINAN, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Nobel laureate Mo Yan's home city of Gaomi in east China's Shandong Province, as well as the provincial capital Jinan, on Saturday jointly released a pair of commemorative postmarks to celebrate his recent receipt of the prestigious literary award.
The postmarks feature an image of the Nobel Prize in Literature medal, Mo's portrait and his signature, a spokesman from the Shandong Post said.
Celebratory phrases, such as "the first Chinese national to win the Nobel Prize for Literature," "pride of Gaomi, Shandong, China" and "hometown people congratulating Mo Yan on winning the Noble Prize in Literature" are also on the postmarks.
The spokesman said the company is also considering issuing other commemorative items, such as envelopes and stamps.
Mo won the 2012 Nobel Prize in Literature on Thursday. He is the first Chinese to win the prize.
