BEIJING, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- Top political advisor Jia Qinglin on Monday visited an art exhibition reflecting people's persistence to conquer hardships in revolutionary times.

The exhibition, called "Embracing Daylights, Promoting the Xibaipo Spirit: Chen Chengqi Oil Painting Show," is being held at the National Museum of China, and will close on Tuesday.

Jia is chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the country's top political advisory body.

Jointly hosted by the Ministry of Culture and the Hebei local governments, the show displays 130 paintings created by Chen Chengqi, a painter based in Hebei province in north China, over the past three decades.

Chen's paintings feature scenes of major historical events after the Communist Party of China Central Committee moved its headquarters in 1948 to Hebei's Xibaipo Village. There, they convened key meetings paving the way for the founding of the New China. The artworks also reflect local people's contribution to the success of the Chinese Revolution.
