CPC publicity chief vows more exchanges, cooperation on Internet development

BEIJING, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- Liu Yunshan, publicity chief of the Communist Party of China (CPC), said China is ready to join other countries in conducting exchanges and cooperation in various forms and on various levels on Internet development.

Liu made the remarks on Tuesday when meeting with foreign delegates for a round-table conference on emerging countries' Internet development, which is running under a theme of Internet security and international cooperation, held in Beijing from Tuesday to Wednesday.

Liu said the conference opened a new channel for developing countries to carry out dialogue and cooperation on the Internet. He hoped the countries would improve relevant mechanisms and promote their cooperation in this regard.

He added that China will work with other countries to create a harmonious Internet environment, ensure the free and secure flow of information and promote the sound development of the global Internet.

The foreign delegates spoke highly of the fast growth and development of China's Internet and the role of the conference as a platform for them to share their experiences. They vowed to continue to promote exchanges and cooperation on Internet development.
