Chinese vice premier meets Singaporean PM

BEIJING, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- Vice Premier Li Keqiang met with Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong Friday morning.

Li said the two countries' cooperation has contributed to economic growth on both sides, adding that China views its relations with Singapore from a strategic and long-term point of view.

He said China is ready to strengthen political mutual trust with Singapore and boost communication and coordination on major international and regional issues.

The vice premier called on the two countries to expand cooperation in multiple areas and deepen cooperation between the central, western and northeastern parts of China and Singapore.

Lee said China's growth is an opportunity for Singapore.

Singapore is willing to explore ways to give better play to the two countries' advantages and expand their cooperation, Lee said.

Li said all parties in east Asia should continue to promote regional cooperation and expand common interests so as to realize stable economic growth.

Lee concluded his six-day official visit to China on Friday afternoon.
