BEIJING, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- China's top legislator Wu Bangguo met with visiting Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Friday morning.
Wu briefed the guest on China's economic and social development, saying China has been strengthening and improving macro-regulatory policies, speeding up the economic development transformation and promoting a harmonious and stable society, and Singapore owns a lot of valuable experience in this regard.
China and Singapore should continue to share their experiences and strengthen personnel training, as well as conduct closer communication between legislative bodies, so as to serve the two countries' construction and development, said Wu, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature.
Wu also spoke highly of the development of China-Singapore relations. He said China always considers Singapore an important cooperation partner in the region and will steadily pursue a good-neighborly policy of friendship and reciprocity.
Lee said China's great achievements in national development and its strong development momentum have made important contributions to regional and global economic growth.
Singapore and China will learn from each other, expand their cooperation areas and push bilateral ties to a new high, Lee said.
Lee concluded his six-day official visit to China on Friday afternoon.
