BEIJING, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- Vice President Xi Jinping on Friday called on all members of the Communist Party of China (CPC) to further improve Party construction.
Xi, who is also a Standing Committee member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks at a working conference related to Party building ahead of the CPC's 18th National Congress.
Xi said that since the Party's 17th National Congress five years ago, Party building work teams have followed the instructions of Hu Jintao, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, to enhance the Party's work.
"Distributed work has largely progressed and most projects have been finished within the five years," Xi said.
Xi called on related departments to be mindful of potential dangers, remain conscious of their responsibilities and keep the overall situation in mind.
Measures should be formulated to complete unfinished tasks, Xi added.
Senior CPC leader He Guoqiang said at the meeting that Party building has made prominent achievements, setting up a solid foundation for the modernization of Party building.
He urged relevant departments to make full use of their experience, as it will play a long-term role in Party construction.
