BEIJING, June 11 (Xinhua) -- Liu Yunshan, a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC), on Monday met with Rudy Demotte, minister-president of Wallonia and the Wallonia-Brussels Federation of Belgium.
Liu, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said the outlook for cooperation with the Wallonia region, an industrial hub in Belgium, is promising.
China is ready to boost cooperation with Belgium in areas relating to science, technology, education and culture, he said.
Demotte said his country hopes to acquire a deeper understanding of China and boost bilateral cooperation in the cultural and creative industries.
Demotte is visiting Beijing and the city of Wuhan in central China's Hubei province from June 11 to 14 as part of an Asian tour that will also take him to the Republic of Korea (ROK) and Japan.
