HANOI, June 22 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's Ministry of Culture, Sports
and Tourism (MCST) has expressed its willingness to host the ASEAN
Tourism Forum in 2019 and has asked the government for approval,
according to the MCST on Wednesday.
The forum, which could be held in capital Hanoi, central Da Nang
City or southern Ho Chi Minh City, will bring together tourism
officials and representatives from the 10 ASEAN member states as
well as dialogue partners from China, India, Japan, South Korea and
Russia.
Under the framework of the forum, an ASEAN tourism minister
conference, meetings of national tourism agency officials and an
ASEAN Travel Expo are expected to be held.
The annual tourism forum was first launched in Malaysia in 1981.
