MUMBAI, April 23 (Xinhua) -- Indian stocks closed higher Wednesday, rallying to a new record high of 22,876.54, 118.17 points or 0.52 percent up from the previous close of 22,768.37 points.
The Indian stocks have been rallying for several sessions due to optimism of the business circle about the winning of the on- going general election by the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party led by its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, who is considered pro-business.
