SEOUL, April 18 (Xinhua) -- Seoul shares opened higher on Friday.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) rose 9. 17 points, or 0.46 percent, to trade at 2,001.22 in the first 15 minutes of trading.
The South Korean currency was quoted at 1,037.6 won against the U.S. dollar as of 9:15 a.m., up 1.2 won from Thursday's close.
