TOKYO, April 4 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened slightly lower on Friday morning following overnight losses of U.S. stocks.
At 9:15 a.m. local time, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was down 34.57 points, or 0.23 percent, from Thursday to 15,037.31.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange shed 0.43 point, or 0.04 percent, to 1,216.34.
