Passenger traffic at Polish airports up 2.2 pct in 2013

WARSAW, April 3 (Xinhua) -- Passenger traffic at Poland's airports grew 2.2 percent year-on-year in 2013 to nearly 25 million, the Polish Civil Aviation Authority reported on Thursday.

In 2013, Warsaw Chopin airport, Poland's biggest international airport, handled 10.6 million passengers. It was followed by the airports in Krakow (3.6 million), Gdansk (2.8 million) and Katowice (2.5 million).

The Irish low fare carrier Ryanair carried a record 6.5 million passengers, followed by the Polish national carrier LOT and Eurolot with 5.8 million, Wizz Air with over 4 million and Lufthansa with 1.5 million.
