TOKYO, March 10 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo shares ended lower Monday on tepid Japanese economic data amid a sentiment of locking in recent gains after Nikkei's four-day uptrend.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended down 153.93 points, or 1.01 percent, from Friday at 15,120.14.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange ended down 9.36 points, or 0.76 percent, at 1, 227.61.
Decliners were led by real estate, oil and coal, and warehousing issues.
The turnover was about 1,752.3 billion yen (17.0 billion U.S. dollars).
