TOKYO, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened slightly lower Friday as market sentiment was undermined by poor performances of U.S. and European shares overnight.
At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average slightly slid 5.94 points, or 0.04 percent, from Thursday to 15,874.39.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange fell 3.84 points, or 0.30 percent, at 1,292. 91.
