TASHKENT, May 13 (Xinhua) -- The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) forecast that Uzbekistan's economy would grow 7.5 percent this year, 0.5 percentage point higher than its January projection, local media reported Monday.
In January, the bank predicted that the country's economy would grow 7 percent.
According to the latest regional economic prospects report of the EBRD, the inflation rate in Uzbekistan for 2013 would stand at 11 percent.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said in the April edition of its World Economic Outlook that Uzbekistan's economy could grow 7 percent this year.
The Uzbekistan government predicted a growth rate of 8 percent for 2013, the same with the average rate for the country since the mid-2000s.
