TOKYO, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- Nikkei opened 0.28 percent lower Friday, tracking losses on Wall Street following sluggish U.S. and European economic data.
At 9:15 a.m. local time, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average fell 31.36 points, or 0.28 percent, from Thursday to 11,277.77.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 5.51 points, or 0.57 percent, to 957. 35.
