TOKYO, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- Nikkei dropped sharply Friday as investors took profits on recent gains.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 122.14 points, or 1.35 percent, to close at the day's low of 8,933.06.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 10.19 points, or 1.36 percent, at 741.23.
The gainer are consumer finance firms, airline companies and food makers posted gains.
The turnover was about 1084.6 billion yen (about 13.57 billion U.S. dollars).
