SEOUL, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's gross domestic product (GDP) grew 0.2 percent in the third quarter from three months earlier, hitting the lowest in around three years, data by the central bank showed Friday.
Real GDP, the broadest measure of economic performance, expanded 0.2 percent during the July-September period from three months before, slower than a revised on-quarter growth of 0.3 percent for the second quarter, according to an advance estimate by the Bank of Korea (BOK).
The second-quarter growth was the lowest since the fourth quarter of 2009 when the GDP rose 0.2 percent on an on-quarter basis.
From a year earlier, the real GDP advanced 1.6 percent in the third quarter, the lowest since a 1.0 percent expansion for the third quarter of 2009.
