SEOUL, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- South Korean consumer electronics giant LG Electronics posted 220.55 billion won (200 million U.S. dollars) in operating profit for the third quarter, a regulatory filing showed Wednesday.
Consolidate operating profit, which includes profits from its units, reached 220.55 billion won during the July-September period, turning around from a loss of 31.89 billion won a year earlier, according to the regulatory filing. From three months before, the profit was down 37 percent.
Sales contracted 4 percent on-year to 12.38 trillion won in the three months ending Sept. 30, but net income amounted to 157.12 billion won, shifting into the black from a loss of 413.92 billion won a year before.
