TOKYO, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- Business confidence among large manufacturers soured in September from three months earlier, the Bank of Japan (BOJ) said Monday in a report.
The sentiment index stood at minus 3, down from June's minus 1, the BOJ said in its Tankan quarterly survey report.
The index for major non-manufacturers remained unchanged at plus 8 compared with the average estimate of a drop to plus 6.
The central bank also said large firms in all industries plan to increase from the previous year their capital spending by 6.4 percent in fiscal 2012, which ends in March.
