TOKYO, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks ended a seesaw session slightly higher Tuesday, helped by investors buying high dividend shares in the absence of other lucrative factors.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average climbed 22.25 points, or 0. 25 percent, from Monday at 9,091.54. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange gained 3.98 points, or 0.53 percent, to 757.66.
Miscellaneous products producers, metal products makers and textile issues led the market's advance, while sea transport firms, airlines and steelmakers incurred losses.
Turnover during the day's trading reached 1.0732 trillion yen ( 13.7 billion U.S. dollars).
