LAGOS, June 25 (Xinhua) -- At least 19 people have been killed and 52 others injured in a bomb attack that rocked Wuse area of Abuja, Nigeria's capital city on Wednesday.

A competent security source told Xinhua that at least 41 vehicles were also destroyed in the attack.

The sources said both the dead and injured victims were taken to National Hospital Maitama General Hospital, Wuse General Hospital, federal Staff Hospital and Turkish Hospital.

A xinhua reporter at the scene said the security agencies have been deployed to the area and have cordoned off the scene while mop up activities were carried out.

Although no persons or group have claimed responsibility for the attack which happened at a popular and normally crowded shopping plaza, Boko Haram is suspected to be behind it, according to police.
