Among the attendees are 30 elite referees, 14 physical fitness instructors and 37 referee assessors, he said, while highlighting the category of participants. "Arrival date for the referee assessors is April 7 and their course will hold on Tuesday, April 8 and Wednesday, April 9. The arrival date for elite referees is Tuesday, April 8 and their course will hold on Wednesday, April 9," added Okayi.

The football administrator said three officials from FIFA, the world football governing body, will also attend the event in Abuja. The officials, which include a technical instructor, fitness instructor and a referee development officer, would deliver lectures during the course.

Okayi disclosed that five other instructors, sourced from Africa's most populous country, would also interact with the participants during the course, so as to help sharpen their technical knowledge.

A previous edition of the FIFA technical course for football officials, held in Nigeria last year, attracted 108 participants.
