NAIROBI, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) -- An explosion was reported in Kenyan capital Nairobi and injured one man on Saturday night, Nairobi police said.
The explosion was caused by an improvised explosion device which went off at about 8:30 pm local time inside a merchandise shop in Eastleigh district of Nairobi, police said .
According to Nairobi police boss Benson Kibue, a known suspect of Somali origin walked into the shop and abandoned the device there.
The device exploded a few minutes after a customer walked into the shop.
The customer sustained serious injuries and is admitted at KNH, said Kibue.
He appealed the locals to help in tracing the suspect.
This is the second explosion in less than one month in Kenya.
No arrest has been made so far.
Attacks are on the rise since 2011 when Kenyan troops crossed to Somalia to hunt for Alshabaab militants who are blamed for several terrorist attacks in Kenya.
