TUNIS, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- Tunisia's National Constituent Assembly (NCA), started voting on the new constitution on Friday.

In an opening address, the NCA speaker Mustapha Ben Jaafar said the draft constitution depicts a new vision for the country.

He added that although the NCA has a lot of work, it is important to abide by the deadline announced earlier for ratifying the constitution.

Tunisia's constitution is set to be ratified by Jan. 14, which marks the third anniversary of the uprising that led to the ouster of former president Zine Al Abidine Ben Ali.
