KINSHASA, Dec. 31 (Xinhua) -- According to the security sources, The Prophet Joseph Mukungubila Mutombbo is the opponent to President Joseph Kabila and might be the initiator of Monday's attacks on three strategic sites in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
"After the attackers took control of the Congolese National Radio Television (TRNC), they forced the journalists to read a release message indicating that Mukungubila liberator," said a soldier of the Armed Forces Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) on condition of anonymity.
"These attackers have fetishes, they are well prepared," he said, explaining that once one was shot, they cited the name Mukungubila, then they took a piece of wood "to neutralize magic with throwing us to the body."
One of the journalists who was taken hostage also told Xinhua that the name of the Prophet Mukungubila was cited as a slogan by the attackers.
The gunmen also launched an attack Monday on a military camp in Lubumbashi, where ammunition was found at the residence of the Prophet Mukungubila.
Unsuccessful candidate for the 2006 presidential election, the prophet Mukungubila has always challenged the Kabila's regime.
