PARIS, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- Two French soldiers have been killed in the Central African Republic's capital of Bangui, the French presidency said on Tuesday.

"With much sadness, the president learned of the deaths in combat of two French soldiers last night in Bangui," the Elysee said in a statement.

"The president expresses his deep respect for the sacrifice of these two soldiers and renews his full support for the French forces alongside African forces as they restore security in the Central African Republic, protect the people and guarantee access to humanitarian aid," it said.


Two French soldiers injured in Mali

PARIS, July 24 (Xinhua) -- Two French soldiers suffered from slight injuries after their vehicle exploded in north of Gao in Mali, French army official said Wednesday.

Two French soldiers taking part in a security operation in the restless Malian region of Gao were "slightly injured" on Tuesday following an explosion of their armored vehicle, said the Colonel Thierry Burkhard, army spokesman. Full story
