CAIRO, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- Masked men fired rocket-propelled grenade on the main premises of communication satellite dish in Maadi district of Cairo, state TV reported on Monday.
One of the dishes used for international phone calls was damaged, the report said.
The series of attacks on Monday by unknown perpetrators in the capital and Sinai came one day after Egypt marked the anniversary of the 40th anniversary of Oct. 6, 1973 war, when Egyptians flooded the main squares for celebrations.
At least 51 protesters, mainly the supporters of the ousted President Mohamed Morsi who attempted to converge Tahrir Square, were killed during Sunday celebrations.
Egypt court bans Muslim Brotherhood activities
CAIRO, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- An Egyptian court on Monday banned all activities of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) and ordered to seize the group's assets and funds, state-run al-Ahram online reported.
As the MB had been officially registered as a non-governmental organization (NGO) in March, the court in Cairo also banned on Monday the activities of the group as an NGO and of all institutions affiliated to it. Full story
51 killed in clashes in Egypt amid war anniversary celebration
CAIRO, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- At least 51 people were killed and about 270 injured in Egypt's clashes between security forces and supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) on Sunday, official news agency MENA reported, citing the health ministry.
Clashes erupted between the security forces and the MB supporters during the nation's celebrations of the 40th anniversary of October 6 war against Israel.Full story
Militants attack army patrol near Egypt's Ismailia, five killed
CAIRO, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- Five army men including four soldiers and one officer were killed on Monday when unknown militants attacked a military patrol near Ismailia city, security official told Xinhua.
Masked gunmen in a car without licensed plates opened the fire randomly on the soldiers while they were sitting in a checkpoint near Ismailia on the Suez Canal, the source said.Full story
