MOGADISHU, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- Four crew members were killed after an Ethiopian military cargo plane crash-landed at the airport in the Somali capital, airport sources and witnesses said.
The sources said four of its six crew members were killed in the crash and the Mogadishu international airport was closed.
The Ethiopian Air force plane was reportedly carrying weapons and ammunition for the African Union peacekeeping Mission in Somalia (AMISOM).
"The plane which looks like a military one crashed near the airport and immediately caught fire and firefighters are at the scene," an eyewitness told Xinhua.
Local media reported that explosions occurred on the plane after the incident. No Somali or AMISOM officials commented on the crash so far.
