Egypt's Adli Mansour takes oath as interim head of state   2013-07-04 17:45:05            

CAIRO, July 4 (Xinhua) -- Egyptian judge Adli Mansour was sworn in Thursday as the interim president of the state after the ouster of Mohamed Morsi. Adli has taken an oath earlier in the day as head of the Supreme Constitutional Court (SCC).

"I swear by almighty God that I will sincerely protect the republican order and that I fully respect the constitution and the rule of law and completely take care of people's interests, preserve the nation's independency and safety of its lands," Adli said during the ceremony.

He also promised to lead "a modern, constitutional, national and civil country."

At least 11 people were killed and more than 500 injured in clashes between the supporters and opponents of the ousted president Morsi Wednesday overnight.

Egyptian judges decide not to supervise constitution referendum

CAIRO, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- Egyptian Judge Club agreed Sunday on boycotting the supervision on the constitution referendum set on Dec. 15, state-run Ahram on-line reported.

Morsi says army's roadmap "complete military coup"

CAIRO, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Egypt's ousted President Mohamed Morsi said Wednesday that the newly-announced military roadmap for running the country during a transitional period is "a complete military coup," calling on all people to stick to the law and the constitution.
