TRIPOLI, June 11 (Xinhua) -- A home-made bomb was found Tuesday under a car belong to the Italian embassy in Tripoli, capital of unrest-hit Libya, no one was injured, local security and embassy officials told Xinhua.
The bomb was planted by unknown militants under an Italian embassy car when two diplomats went out for shopping in central Zhawiya area in Tripoli, an Italian embassy official said.
The pair called the police after hearing a strange noise under the car, he said, adding the bomb was later detonated by experts and no one was wounded.
The security forces have cordoned off the scene.
Owing to lack of military and police forces after former ruler Muammar Gaddafi was toppled in October 2011, clashes and bomb attacks frequently happened in Libya recently.
