TRIPOLI, March 19 (Xinhua) -- Libya's General National Congress (GNC) approved the 2013 budget during its session on Tuesday.
As many as 142 lawmakers voted for the budget, which was set at 66 billion Libyan Riyals (some 51 billion dollars), the state-run TV reported.
Abdel Salam Abdullah, head of GNC's financial committee, presented the budget during the session.
The budget is divided into four sections: the salaries of state employees, operating expenditures of the state, development and reconstruction projects, and subsidization of goods and fuel.
On February 21, the GNC announced that it referred the 2013 budget to its concerned committees for revision.
