CAIRO, March 3 (Xinhua) -- A retrial for Egypt's former President Hosni Mubarak, his two sons and former interior minister, is set to open on April 13, official MENA news agency reported on Sunday.
Samir Abu Maati, the head of Cairo Appeals Court, said the court has set April 13 to retry Mubarak, his two sons, former Interior Minister Habib el-Adli and his six assistants over involvement in the deaths of protesters, according to the report.
Mubarak was sentenced to life imprisonment in the first trial.

CAIRO, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- The Egyptian authorities on Thursday released Zakaria Azmy, former chief of staff of ex-president Hosni Mubarak and one of his closest long-time aides, according to a court order, official news agency MENA reported.
Azmy was released after detectives made sure he did not have any criminal record nor was he wanted in other lawsuits. Full story
Egypt's ex-PM referred to criminal court over corruption charges
CAIRO, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- Egyptian former prime minister and presidential candidate Ahmed Shafiq was referred in absentia to Cairo Criminal Court Tuesday over corruption and money laundering charges, the state-run MENA news agency reported.
Shafiq, the last prime minister under former President Hosni Mubarak, left Egypt for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after losing the presidential race with the Muslim Brotherhood's Mohamed Morsi. Full story
