BEIJING, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- China Monday strongly condemned the suicide bombing attack on a Christian church in Pakistan that killed at least eight people and injured 44 others.

"China has always opposed to terrorism in any form," Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said at a daily press briefing.

"We will continue to support Pakistan in fighting terrorism and safeguarding national security and safety of the people and their property, "she said, expressing deep and sincere condolences to the families of the victims and the injured.

Four suicide bombers attacked a densely-packed church in Pakistan's southwestern town of Quetta, the capital of Baluchistan, on Sunday.

One of the terrorists was shot dead by church guards before detonating his explosive vest, according to Pakistani authorities.

Local affiliates of the terrorist group Islamic State (IS) claimed responsibility for the Pakistani church attack.
