Dollar stays in upper 112 yen zone on expectations for U.S. tax reforms

TOKYO, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar stayed in the upper 112 yen zone Monday in Tokyo on growing expectations for the passage of a U.S. tax reform bill later this month.

At 5 p.m., the dollar was quoted at 112.67-68 yen compared with 112.57-67 yen in New York and 112.15-16 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Friday. It moved between 112.53 yen and 112.84 yen during the day.

The euro fetched 1.1780-1781 dollars and 132.73-77 yen against 1.1745-1755 dollars and 132.27-37 yen in New York and 1.1791-1792 dollars and 132.24-28 yen in Tokyo late Friday afternoon.
