SYDNEY, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- Premier Daniel Andrews of the Australian State of Victoria, was given a sneak peak of Melbourne Zoo's Carnivores' Trail on Monday, one day before the attraction officially opens to the public.

It took around 18 months to build the 7 million U.S. dollars enclosure, containing some of the world's most lovable killers in the animal kingdom, such as Tasmanian devils, African wild dogs, Philippines crocodiles and the tarantula-eating coatis.

But as it turns out, the snow leopards, African lions and Sumatran tigers seemed to have better things to do in their comfortable new home and didn't seem very interested in meeting the state's leader.

Despite being brushed of by the meat-eaters, Andrews said the zoo's new attraction will be a major win for education, entertainment and the economy.

"Finally, you've got for these magnificent creatures, facilities that match the quality of your care for them," Andrews told zoo staff.

"But more importantly, in some respects, this is a great earner for our state in terms of international visitors, tourism -- this is an essential part of a proper Melbourne experience."
