Afghan forces retake Tabar valley, Taliban run away: police

SARI PUL, Afghanistan, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- Afghan forces, after three days of fierce fighting, regained control of the strategically important Tabar volley in the northern Sari Pul province, forcing Taliban militants to flee after suffering huge casualties, police spokesman in the northern region Sayed Sarwar Hussaini said Monday.
