Haikou encourages civil aviation industry with subsidies

The government of Haikou city in South China’s Hainan Province has approved a series of favorable policies in support of the development of civil aviation industry recently.

According to the Haikou Tourism Development Commission, different amount of financial subsidies are given to the airline companies to open more international regular air routes.

Newly opened overseas regular non-stop flights are supported with subsidies ranging from 60,000 to 600,000 yuan.

Of them, air routes operated by large aircraft with more than 200 seats could enjoy an extra 50 percent of funding.

Moreover, once the overseas flight routes open for over three years, Asian routes and intercontinental routes flights will be given a subsidy of 2 million and 3 million yuan respectively.

Financial support is also given to encourage Haikou’s inbound tourism.

The subsidy policies shall expire on December 31, 2018.
