PARIS, Dec.14 (Xinhua) -- France's statistics institute Insee on Thursday said the consumer prices index (CPI), a key gauge of inflation, was slightly up by 0.1 percent in November from a month earlier due to an increase in energy costs.
November price increase stemmed mainly from 1.6 percent in energy prices, with that of petroleum products gaining 2.4 percent last month compared to October's data.
Last month, a 0.7-percent fall in fresh food stuffs limited the growth of food costs to 0.1 percent. Services prices were slightly down by 0.1 percent, pulled down by 2.8 percent decline in transport costs, Insee figures showed.
On yearly basis, the country's prices rose by 1.2 percent.
