HONG KONG, Dec.14 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong Cyberport announced on Thursday that its creative community has grown to 1000 companies, which are in areas such as FinTech, Big Data, AI, e-commerce and Wearables.
Entrepreneurship programme graduates, technology companies and industry partners witnessed this new milestone of Cyberport.
Dr David Chung, Under Secretary for Innovation and Technology, congratulated Cyberport on passing an important milestone.
"Cyberport's focus is not just on quantity, but also on quality," he said. "Cyberport's brilliant start-ups have attracted nearly 1 billion HK dollars (128 million U.S. dollars) of investment funding during a six-month period from April to September this year."
"The government will continue to collaborate with industry, academia and research sectors to build an innovation-driven economy," Chung said.
