LONDON, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- China Mobile International Ltd (CMI) Wednesday launched here new mobile voice and data services designed for Chinese immigrants, students and professionals living in and traveling to Britain.

CMLink, the telecommunication company's mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) business, will provide a package of affordable services that cater to the Chinese community in Britain.

There is a significant Chinese community living and working in Britain, and visits to Britain from China in the first half of 2017 is 47 percent higher than that of last year, according to CMI.

The company believes that this growing trend of travel between China and Britain has created demand for services that enable consumers to stay connected.

"We expect the UK launch to be a new chapter in CMI delivering compelling digital services that break down barriers of communication for global consumers while fostering open exchange between companies," said Li Feng, chairman and CEO of CMI, the international arm of China Mobile.

The launch of CMLink is the result of a partnership between CMI and BT, which owns the biggest 4G network in Britain.
