China's Sanya boosts inbound tourism

The number of inbound tourists to the beach resort city of Sanya in China's southernmost province of Hainan, increased by 50.62 percent year on year in the first quarter of 2017, according to official data revealed by the local government.

A total of 150, 700 inbound tourists visited Sanya in the period.

The leading four markets of Sanya's inbound tourism are Russia, South Korea, China’s Taiwan and Hong Kong, and the year-on-year growth rate of visitors from Russia is over 700 percent.

Flows of visitors from the United States, Malaysia, Singapore and Germany also increased significantly.

In 2017, Sanya has opened several new air flights, expanding its coverage to major tourist markets like Russia, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Kazakhstan, Japan, Thailand, China’s Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Sanya will steadily strengthen the inbound tourism market and strive for a more convenient transit visa exemptions policy, according to the local government.
