HONG KONG, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- The Food safety authority of China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) announced on Tuesday the recall of three French formula products for infants and young children that might be contaminated with salmonella.

The Center for Food Safety (CFS) of the HKSAR government's Food and Environmental Hygiene Department said it had ordered the recall of three Inovital Infant milk products, which are for consumption by children aged up to six months, from six to 12 months, and from one to three years.

The formula products are manufactured by Lactalis International and imported by Jumbo Smart Development with a best before date ranging from March 13, 2019, to June 27, 2019.

The CFS, upon receiving notification from the European Commission's food alert system on Tuesday that the affected products had been imported into Hong Kong, instructed the importer to recall them.

It also urged the public not to let infants and young children consume the products.
